I’m Steve Horner. I’ve been connecting brands with people online for the past nine years.

Starting off in New Zealand, I did a stint in Germany, and now call London home. Here I’m pushing to make the work better as Creative Director at +rehabstudio.

Past clients include Expedia, Google, HBO, Toyota, Red Bull, and Vodafone. Along the way I’ve learnt a lot, made some talented friends, won a couple of awards, and created a few good things.

Red Bull Bedroom Jam

Campaign Platform

After commissioning us to create the Bedroom Jam platform and social outreach campaign to help young bands rise above the static in 2012 with record engagement and results, Red Bull challenged us to evolve the platform for international rollout in 2014.

We started by carrying out a full teardown of the previous platform, interrogating what the needs of bands and fans were, and took the changes in device usage over the past two years into consideration.

Applying this insight, we designed a fluid responsive layout to fully utilise the screen area, implemented touch and mouse optimised interactions, and used an “on-demand” interaction pattern to only display navigation when needed.

Our re-imagined platform empowered bands to control more of their competition profile page than ever before, and fans to be rewarded for their engagement with high impact feedback on-site.
